Outstanding Student of the Year Award Guidelines

Grades K-4

The Outstanding Student of the Year Award Grades K-4 recognizes a student who has written an extraordinarily effective piece of literature, either fiction or non-fiction, or who has created an unusually expressive piece of visual art relating to diversity, learning from many cultures and/or issues of human rights.

Awards will be given for grades K-4. Please do not send the work of an entire class. Nominate only the most outstanding work.

ART PROJECTS

Requirements for presentation of materials:

Original art, videos or photos of art are to be delivered or mailed to:

The person nominating the student must arrange for delivery and pickup of original art. Videos and photos of art will not be returned.

  4. Evidence of voice
  5. Command of mechanics

Nominations must be received by April 30. Awards will be presented at the HHRC Annual Meeting in late May, date to be announced.

Awards will be given for grades 5-8, and 9-12. Please do not send the work of an entire class. Nominate only the most outstanding work. Do not submit teacher assigned research papers or essays.
